The candidate that is hired for this position will be required to teach at our local campus in Tucson, AZ.  This is not a virtual or online course.  Only candidates that are able to teach at this specific campus location should apply.

Responsibilities

  1. As a faculty member you’ll be challenged with adding your professional expertise to instruct a curriculum which is centrally developed with specific learning objectives.
  2. Provide timely and detailed feedback on a weekly basis and offer student support via classroom, phone, and email.
  3. Utilize classroom learning system technology (provided by university), the Internet, and Microsoft Office software. 
  4. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

MUST meet one of the numbered pathways below, as well as any applicable clarifications stated, (including education, area of study and previous work experience, including minimum number of years and types of experience):

  1. Doctorate of Nursing Science, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or a PhD in Nursing. 
  2. Doctorate degree in any area AND a Master's degree in Nursing. 

Doctoral Clarification: All faculty must have a minimum of six (6) applicable credits AND all faculty must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical nursing practice setting with a minimum of 2 years’ current experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

 

OR

  1. Master's degree in Nursing. 

Master’s Clarification: All Faculty must have a minimum of 6 applicable credits and all faculty must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical nursing practice setting with a minimum of 3 years’ current experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

REQUIRED CREDENTIAL

  • All faculty must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state they are residing and an active National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. 
  • Faculty released to teach NRP/543 in the Online modality must hold either an active unencumbered or unrestricted Arizona or compact state RN license AND an active Arizona Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.

ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATIONS:

  • Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Applicable coursework can include but is not limited to: Chronic Healthcare in Pediatrics, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, and/or Pediatrics.
  • Acceptable professional position is a Nurse Practitioner with pediatric or adolescent practice experience.
  • Current experience is considered professional experience within the past 5 years.
  • Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) acceptable Nursing Master’s degrees are: MSN (Master of Science in Nursing), MN (Master of Nursing), MS in Nursing (Master of Science with a specialization in Nursing), and/or a MA in Nursing (Master of Arts in Nursing).
  • Current compact states include: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin.
  • Within 30 days of being hired, faculty teaching graduate level courses must document in their university academic credentials record, a scholarly activity plan or a record of scholarly activity that conforms to Boyer’s Model.  Those submitting only a plan will then have 11 months to document the successful implementation of that plan.
